Phase Change Material - Material that can absorb, store, and release heat

77,00 kr

This is a micro-encapsulated phase change material that consists of small plastic spheres (Ø ~0.005 mm) containing a paraffin wax. The wax inside the spheres starts to melt when heated. The wax is able to absorb a relatively large amount of heat during the phase change from solid to liquid. This heat is released when the temperature falls, as the wax will maintain the melting temperature until all the wax has solidified.

Used for:
It is being marketed as a latent heat storage material for use in wall panels, walls, and ceilings, where it can help level out daily temperature fluctuations. It is also used in textiles for sportswear and bed linens to help regulate body temperature.

Details:
The wax is confined in the spheres, which means the material maintains its performance and function over decades. There are different variants with melting temperatures between 21°C and 26°C.

Idea:
Create a hand-cooling computer mouse or an office chair that doesn't get warm.

Our sample melts at 23°C and the price is for a quantity of 30 grams.
